Congratulations to the 8th grade Science Bowl, which took first place in the regional Science Bowl and won themselves an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. at the end of April to compete in the nationals finals!
The Ladue 1 team had to string out six straight victories over the course of three hours (after already completing six prior matches) in order to win the competition. This included back-to-back wins over the only team that beat them earlier in the day.
“It was truly a battle of attrition, and the odds were heavily in the other team’s favor,” substitute coach Michael Clay said. “It was an astonishing come from behind win!”
