Ladue Horton Watkins High School students participated in and won the upper division of the National Economics Challenge (NEC), the nation’s most prestigious high school economics competition!
There are two divisions: the upper (Adam Smith) and the lower (David Ricardo). The upper division is for AP, IB and Honors students. The lower division is for general Economics students participating for the first time.
The team won the upper division and will compete in the National Semi-Finals! The students are: David Song (12), Philip Adams (12), Patrick Naughton (12) and Alex Tan (12).
Each year, over 10,500 students across the U.S. participate in the competition. The Challenge recognizes exceptional high school students for their knowledge of economic principles and their ability to apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to real-world events.
