
The speech and debate team competed in the Eastern Missouri District Speech and Debate Tournament, and took home several awards! The team took 7th in Speech Sweepstakes, 1st in Congress Sweepstakes, 1st in Debate Sweepstakes and 2nd in Overall Sweepstakes. The team will send six students to the national tournament in Fort Lauderdale this summer!
Also, a few more recognitions of note were:
- LHWHS Principal Brad Griffith was selected as the 2018 Eastern Missouri District Principal of the Year.
- Emily Bell (Class of 2012) was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Eastern Missouri District Alumni Achievement Award.
- Senior Levi Dyson was a finalist for the 2018 Eastern Missouri District Student of the Year Award.
