Spoede Elementary School recently participated in “Make a Difference Day,” a day intended to get people involved in community service, by creating care packages for residents at a nursing home. All of the Spoede students created cards and decorated wrapping paper for the boxes. Students were asked to do chores to earn money for purchasing items to put in the boxes.
A small group of students, who are participating in “Read, Write, and Run,” helped the cause by hosting a pretzel sale. All together, Spoede Elementary School ra
ised over $1,000 to purchase items to fill the boxes. The “Read, Write, and Run” students also sorted items, filled boxes, and delivered them to the nursing home to the delight of the residents!
