The LHWHS Speech and Debate team competed at the MSHSAA State Tournament held at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, on April 20-21.
For the first time in a long time, every debate entry the Talking Rams took to the state tournament advanced out of preliminary rounds! This is an incredible accomplishment and speaks to the hard work of the students who competed in the tournament.
Levi Dyson (12) and Edward Wu (12) – Semifinalists in Public Forum Debate
Gabe DiAntonio (09) and Max Kornfeld (11) – Quarterfinalists in Policy Debate
Sam Hiken (11) and Hale Masaki (11) – Quarterfinalists in Policy Debate
Additionally, Levi Dyson (12) was 9th in Radio Speaking after preliminary rounds.
The speech and debate team will next compete in the National Catholic Forensic League’s National Tournament in Washington, D.C., over Memorial Day weekend.
